Now that spring-like temperatures seem to have FINALLY arrived in Ontario, I am wanting, more and more, to act and dress like it is spring!
Here are a few things I love to do to freshen up for spring after the long winter we just had!
1. Get a pedicure! I love going to the spa any time of the year, but after a long winter of being stuffed into socks and boots, my feet and yours deserve some love and attention. Spring is the perfect time to wear flats and to pull out sandals that have been hidden in our closets, so our feet need to be ready. It is also the perfect time to try out some brighter, bolder colours! I always feel as though fun coloured or sparkly toes make me more cheerful. This spring opt for some fun colours and get your feet looking pretty!
2. Get your hair did! After a dry winter, hair can become tired and seem boring. Opt for some highlights or a new cut to freshen things up. Adding a little blonde (or lighter shades) can brighten up your face. It also reflects the sun and makes your skin look radiant. Besides, getting your hair done always feels great, especially when you’re sporting a new ’do!
3. Add a pop of colour to your wardrobe! I can’t afford a whole new wardrobe every season, but I do enjoy adding in some of the season’s trendy colours or must-have items to freshen things up. This season I am loving all the colours in stores. From emerald green, bright pink and teal of all shades to softer pinks and pale greens, there is so much from which to choose! Whether you add colour in the form of a new top, slim pants, a blazer or something as simple as a fun belt, jewelry or shoes, the update will make you feel cheery. It will also help shift your wardrobe away from the darker shades of winter and into the light, brighter shades of spring and summer.
There are many other ways people get into a spring state of mind, but these are just some of my personal faves! Whatever you do, get out and enjoy that amazing sunshine when it comes out from behind the clouds! We’ve been begging for it for so long, and in true Canadian fashion, we will all be complaining about how hot it is soon enough 😉
What do you like to do to bring yourself into a spring mindset?
