Cracking Up the Capital

How’s this for laughs? Rick Mercer, Mary Walsh, Patrick McKenna and a slew of other hilarious performers are in the lineup for the Cracking-Up the Capital Comedy Festival (CUTC) February 5 through 8.

For 10 years, CUTC has been bringing top comedic talent to the city to raise awareness and funds for mental health. This year, funny man Mercer will be honoured with the Comedy Icon Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival finale February 8 at the National Arts Centre. CUTC and Mercer will also be providing entertainment for the 2014 Winterlude Youth Party February 8 at Confederation Park. In fact, the star of The Rick Mercer Report will be a busy guy, joining McKenna and Walsh to judge Winterlude’s professional and youth ice carving competitions February 8.

Always a crowd pleaser, Cracking-Up the Capital supports the Royal Ottawa, Youth Services Bureau, Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre and Wabano Aboriginal Health Centre. For details, see www.crackup.ca, follow @CrackTheCapital on Twitter and find Cracking-Up the Capital Comedy Festival on Facebook.
