Ready to ride in a special, starlit Ottawa celebration? The whole family can enjoy Tour La Nuit, Ontario’s only closed-road night ride. It’s taking place Friday, September 25, from 5 to11 p.m. starting at Ottawa City Hall. Kids of all ages will appreciate the pre-ride festivities. Live entertainment starts at 5 p.m., with food and beverages vendors in City Hall’s square. A local brewery will be on site and SMOOCH, the bike-powered smoothie machine, will be mixing up fruit smoothies and margaritas.
Even your bike can get in on the action. Participants are encouraged to dress up their bikes, and at the Gear Zone everyone who registers for the event online will receive a ticket for a colour wheel light. The motion-activated light will create a band of colour on the inside of your wheel so your ride will glow as you go during Tour La Nuit.
The 20-kilometre tour starts at 7:30 p.m. It’s a car-free nighttime ride through the city that will allow you to experience Ottawa in a whole new way. Live music and animation are along the route for all to enjoy. The ride is suitable for riders of all ages and abilities and families are welcome.
The tour ends back at City Hall, with live bands and refreshments.
All participants must register to ride. Children under 12 are free, but must register with an adult.
