Bring your kids for a fun day and an extra special show at FunHaven on Sunday, February 16. Called Funganza, it features live entertainment and over 30 local exhibitors geared to kids and families. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a trade show presenting everything from clothes to camps. Performers will dazzle the younger set and kids can also explore Funhaven. All ages will be happy this occasion supports a good cause: the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threating or life-limiting illness. Since 1984, the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada has worked to grant exceptional wishes to over 20,000 children and their families. The Foundation expects to grant over 1000 new wishes this year and it takes pride in never having refused a wish to an eligible child. With the help of volunteers and donors, three wishes are granted each day. Every wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family.
At Funganza, kids will enjoy a live show by League of Superheroes and Capital City Garrison. Special guest Max Keeping will also be in attendance. The first 300 participants will receive a goodie bag at the entrance of the show before exploring and enjoying the rest of offerings.
Funhaven is located at 1050 Baxter Road. For details, call Allison Besterman at 613 702-5552.
