Fashion Fundraiser for Mental Health at The Royal

Did you miss Ottawa Fashion Week? You’re in luck. Tomorrow, February 12, there’s a fab fashion extravaganza—for a good cause! Distinctive Women is holding the fashion show at Shepherd’s Fashion, 145 Train Yard’s Drive, to raise awareness of and funds for mental health. From 6 to 9 p.m., the store will play host to a catwalk spectacular, showcasing its latest fashions.

Models for the event are local women connected to Distinctive Women, including: Brigida Aversa from Tiny Hoppers; Pauline Fleming of ProActive Business Leadership; Colleen O’Connell-Campbell, a ScotiaMcLeod Senior Wealth Advisor; Jennifer Stewart from JS Communications; Michelle Valberg from Valberg Imaging and Knock on Wood Communications + Events owner Karen Wood.

Guests will enjoy Ontario wine from Vintners’ Selection and treats from Thyme & Again. There will also be some enticing items to take home, thanks to live and silent auctions. Ottawa Senators tickets, spa gift packages, gift baskets, a Southwest Florida condo rental and a canvas print from Valberg Imaging are some of the items up for grabs.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Women for Mental Health Program. This philanthropic program at The Royal brings together like-minded women to inspire conversations and support mental health. The aim is to shift attitudes and change the way people think about mental health in order to help transform patient care and research at The Royal.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through www.distinctivewomenmagazine.com.
