Jazz Fest Benefit Concert and Auction

The Ottawa Jazz Festival is presenting Susie Arioli and the All the Way Trio at its 17th annual benefit concert and auction Thursday, November 6. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. at Library and Archives Canada. Alan Neal, host of CBC 91.5’s All in a Day, will serve as auctioneer.

Susie Arioli is a singer with a giant voice and the trio will perform many songs from her latest album, All the Way, as well as fan favourites from past CDs.

Auction items include an afternoon at the studio with Alan Neal, a two-night stay at the Fairmont Château Frontenac in Quebec City, Via Rail travel vouchers, adventure and spa packages, excursions, concert tickets, plus Ottawa REDBLACKS VIP club seats for two (meet the athletes + REDBLACKS sweaters).

Ottawa Storytellers Children’s Storytelling Day

If you have young ones, you won’t want to miss Ottawa Storytellers’ Children’s Storytelling Day at Nepean Centrepointe Library Saturday, November 8. The day kicks off with the rhythms of Baobab Youth Drummers at noon. Then, until 4:30 p.m., children and families will find all kinds of entertaining stories in various rooms throughout the library. Over 20 storytellers will be on hand. Once Upon A Story is free for all and great fun! Highlights include Shadow Puppet Theatre, plus storytellers Bill Lalonde, Tom Lips, Kim Kilpatrick, Kathie Kompass and Ruth Stewart Verger. See
