Giddyup and Go Riding in Ottawa’s Horse Country
At Pinto Valley Ranch in Fitzroy Harbour, you can gallop into loads of family fun
For a special summer treat, take the family to Pinto Valley Ranch. Pony rides and trail rides are available from July 1 to August 31 on weekday afternoons and on weekends. (Hours vary, so check the website.) Families can enjoy the petting farm with its ponies, goats, sheep, ducks, pigs, chickens and horses. The kids will get a kick out of the lop-eared bunnies and the llamas.
Hour-long trail rides wind through the scenic forests around the ranch. Take a wagon ride with your whole crew, then relax and put your feet up at the ranch house or have a bite to eat at Step Up Ruby’s Restaurant. It’s open Thursday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for breakfast and lunch.
The ranch is also a really popular spot for birthday parties. (Odds are your kids will go home wanting ponies of their own!)
