Is your school green and eco-vative? Has your school community been coming up with innovative ideas to carrying out eco/green initiatives? You could win – big!

Staples and Earth Day Canada and Staples are giving away $250,0000-worth of new technology to eco-vative Canadian schools through the sixth annual Super Power Your School contest. That equals $25,000 in new technology for 10 schools, from coast to coast!

Last year, the winners in Ontario were St. Agatha Catholic School in Scarborough, and Saunders Secondary School in London. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a winner from Ottawa?

The application process is very simple – but the deadline is coming up. Applications are being accepted until January 29, 2016 at 11:59:59 p.m. (“ET”).

Teachers and principals of publicly-funded schools are encouraged to share what their schools are doing to help the environment at www.staples.ca/powereco for their chance to win.

Examples of projects that helped previous winning schools stand out:

  • Building of a Geodome

  • Maintaining a sustainable green house

  • Planting trees and plants in local parks
