The Dog Days of Summer are Here… (REALLY!)
BARK’s sixth annual Dog Picnic is Sunday, August 12

Did you miss the first annual doggie drive-in movie at Parkdale Park last Saturday night? (Marmadukewas playing.) If you couldn’t make it, fear not, two-legged companion. There’s more canine fun to come. BARK’s sixth annual Dog Picnic is set for Sunday, August 12 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
You’ll be barking up the right tree if you head to 4837 Albion Road for a scratch ’n sniff-filled day of wagging tails and fun. You can even enter the Dog/Owner Look-Alike contest!
Registration starts at 11 a.m., with games and contests beginning at noon.
Cost is $25 for one dog, $30 for two or more. The price of admission includes
one hotdog, one hamburger, one drink and a grab bag for the dog(s). Proceeds support BARK (Bytown Association for Rescued Kanines), an all breed no kill rescue organization, established since 2001. It’s a registered charity comprised of volunteers and its summer picnic is a hit with all comers.
