Do you hear the call of the wild? It’s coming from the region’s top summer destination – Calypso Theme Waterpark. The popular 100-acre facility, east of Ottawa off Highway 417, is introducing an exhilarating new attraction called Jungle Challenge. Its seven unique courses are packed full of fun and surprises.  You’ll walk on crocodiles, logs and water lilies and navigate via ropes and ladders. Can you make it out of the jungle without getting soaked? Wet or dry, you’ll have a blast exploring this exotic $300,000 labyrinth.

It’s right next to the Jungle Run river, a wild waterway full of tropical sights, sounds and experiences.

Calypso is also home to the incredible Summit Tower – the highest freestanding waterslide tower in North America. Imagine whizzing down the Accelerators, four high-speed waterslides – two with four-person toboggan boats and two with double inner tubes. They start way up at 90 feet.

Thrill-seekers will get a big kick out of the tower’s two Aqualoops. At 55-feet up, you’re launched from a cabin with a trap door. At the signal, the floor opens and you drop into a roller coaster-like ride with a spine-tingling loop. At the 30-feet mark are the Family Twisters – four coiled waterslides that are ideal for everybody.

In fact, there are acres of captivating attractions – including over 35 slides, 100 water games and two beach volleyball courts

Pirate’s Aquaplay provides hours of fun for youngsters, with its ropes, slides, water cannons and wooden walkways.  Zoo Lagoon is ideal for children aged six and under and grown-ups are always happy the pools are heated, including the phenomenal wave pool, which is the largest in the country.

Equally impressive is the hospitality. All sorts of amenities are on-site to ensure you enjoy every minute of your visit. A new payment method called Money at my Fingertip allows you to upload money and access it through your fingertip so you don’t even need to carry cash. The unused balance is refundable at the end of the day or the season.

Calypso’s facilities range from restaurants, picnic areas and a souvenir shop to a dairy bar, a terrace and a bar. You’ll appreciate the lounge chairs, lockers and clothes dryers and if you’re due for a day of pampering, consider the VIP Zone, which features private cabanas with private food and beverage service. Season passes and gift certificates are now on sale and available at calypsopark.com.
