Making A SPLASH!

How Cool is This? Nepean Synchro Swim Club is tops in Ontario – for the second year in a row!

While the rest of us are just dipping our toes in the water now that summer is here, members of the Nepean Synchro Swim Club already rule the pool.
At the Ontario Open Age Group Championships (OOAGSSC) in Etobicoke a few weeks ago, they tallied two gold medals, four silver medals and one bronze, as well as fourth, fifth and sixth place ribbons.  Collectively, all those accolades earned Nepean Synchro the Club Aggregate Award Trophy and the honour of being named the number one synchronized swimming club in the province – for the second time in its 30-year history.

Over the past three decades, Nepean Synchro has introduced hundreds of girls to the sport of synchronized swimming, through its recreational and competitive programs. They range from a Synchro Squirts recreational program to Provincial Stream competitive programs and a Masters Team.

The 13-15 provincial team champions performed a routine with a western theme to music from the movie Rango; in this photo, Elise Bordeleau is boosted by her teammates.

All the programs provide an excellent forum for girls to build a life-long interest in a sport that allows them to enjoy a team-atmosphere, stay fit and have fun, as both swimmers and coaches.

A not-for-profit sports club, Nepean Synchro serves Ottawa and the surrounding area and is run by a volunteer parent executive.  Led by head coach Jessica Graham, itsroster of  fully-certified and experienced coaches has contributed to the increasing success of the swimmers over the past decade.  Many of the coaches are former Nepean Synchro athletes.
