Ottawa’s Ronald McDonald House is owned and operated by a 15 member volunteer Board of Directors, and is a not-for-profit organization. We are a registered charity under the name of National Capital Children’s Oncology Care Inc. The Board together with our staff and volunteers work tirelessly at the task of making our House a welcoming Home-Away-From-Home for the families who stay with us. Home can mean many things to many people. Ottawa’s Ronald McDonald House is a “Home-Away-From-Home” for families with children suffering from cancer or other serious illnesses being treated at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Treatment of a sick child may take weeks, months or years and is very stressful for the child, the parents and the rest of the family, especially when they are miles from home.
