Who doesn’t want to look and feel great for the start of a new season? Across Ottawa, there are shopping trips aplenty these days as parents and kids scour the shops and aisles for back-to-school fashions and chic fall outfits, plus shoes and accessories. It is a fun and exciting time.  Parents are heading back to work after holidays, big brothers and sisters are setting off for college or university and thousands of local kids are going back to class.

When sisters Tiana, Rita and Natasia show up, heads turn.  Stunning to look at, these local girls model cute clothes with panache, but it’s less about the brands, price tags and cut of cloth and more about their confidence, exuberance and beautiful spirit. My, how they shine!

Don’t we all want to shine?

Having just turned 13, Tiana is starting Grade 8 in a few days. Her favourite subject is gym and recently she collected her first sports trophy, after her team won in baseball. She describes her style as “classy and simple. I like layering and comfortable clothes.” Both Tiana and Rita attended modeling camp this summer.

Colourful and Sporty

Rita is 10 and she’s heading into Grade 5. Health and science are her favourite classes and her style is best described as “colourful and sporty.” She and her younger sister, Natasia, played soccer on their summer break.
 Sassy

Natasia—whose nickname is Sassy—is going into Grade 3. She’s eight years old and her fave school subject is math. And though she’s the youngest, her sisters report she has plenty of determination to stand up for herself.

Denim, leggings, skirts, dresses, stripes and brights are all great back-to-school choices. You don’t need to put your summer clothes away either. Summery weather is apt to stretch well into September, so don’t hesitate to wear the white jeans or T-shirts. Pair your summer items with one or two new pieces, such as a bright cardi, a scarf or new belt, and you’ll earn the gold star for good taste.
