On October 23, teens aged 11 to 16 are invited to join zombie film director Brett Kelly for a ghoulish Zombie 101 Workshop. With the rise of shows such as Walking Dead and iZombie, this is terrifyingly awesome opportunity for fans to learn the key zombie acting skills needed for a successful Halloween trick or treat tour.
Participants will learn to walk, growl and have their face made up so they have the tools to scare the life out of any slow walking humans!
Of course the key part to any Halloween costume, and zombie look, is makeup. The NCAC Theatrical Makeup Design from Basic to Fantasy Workshop on October 15, 2016, is open to all ages from 11 years up. In collaboration with Suzart Productions, this course will teach students how to transform in to any character with the use of makeup.
The scary fun doesn’t stop there. Nepean Creative Arts Centre’s resident horror instructor will be on hand October 30, celebrating the night before Hallow’s Eve with a Acting for Horror Workshop. It’s time for teens to embrace their inner scream and learn the key techniques to creating a realistic, deadly performance.
Registration is now open for both workshops. Prices vary per age range. Participants can register by visiting join.ottawa.ca or in person at the Nepean Creative Arts Centre, 35 Stafford Road, Bells Corner.
