Apple Oatmeal Muffins with MACKINTOSH Toffee Streusel

Prep Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 35 minutes


1 batch prepared oatmeal muffin mix* (12 muffins)

1 small apple, peeled and finely chopped

1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground cinnamon

1/4 cup (60 mL) all-purpose flour

1/4 cup (60 mL) large flake oats

2 tbsp (30 mL) brown sugar

2 tbsp (30 mL) butter, melted

1 (45 g) MACKINTOSH Toffee Creamy Bar, smacked 


Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 12-cup muffin pan large with paper liners. Gently fold apple and cinnamon into the muffin batter. Divide evenly between the muffin cups.

Combine flour, oats, sugar and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over each muffin. Place a few pieces of toffee on each muffin. Bake according to package directions or until a tester comes out clean when inserted into the centre of a muffin. 

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Makes 12 servings.* Oatmeal muffin mix is readily available in the baking aisle of most grocery stores.
