Feeling a little blah? Stressed? Out of shape and zapped of energy? Join the Midwinter Slump Club. At this time of year, it’s easy to get run down. Just getting the car warmed up and the kids out the door in their snowsuits (with two dry mittens each, lunches and homework in their backpacks) can be an ongoing challenge. So it’s not unusual to lose sight of your own well-being.
Well, it’s time to focus on yourself. That’s Y. O. U.
There’s a unique opportunity coming up that will allow you to do just that. It’s called the Body by God 40-Day Challenge Extreme Makeover.
“Many people have transformed their lives with this amazing program,” says Dr. Erin McLaughlin who along with Dr. Pierre Paradis runs the Hazeldean Family Chiropractic Clinic. The six-week program is based on the best-selling book, Body by God: The Owner’s Manual for Maximized Living by Dr. Ben Lerner. As Maximized Living Certified Instructors, Drs. McLaughlin and Paradis will be leading the local health and wellness challenge. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at Community Life Ottawa, 2 Beaverbrook Road in Kanata.
The 40-Day Challenge consists of two workshops, daily emails and a workbook that help steer you through your spring makeover. At the initial workshop, you’ll do a “self-evaluation” of where you are now and find out the specific details of the challenge. At the end, there’ll be another workshop to recap everything you should be doing and to announce the winners—the people who will have managed the biggest change in 40 days!
But everybody who takes part and makes an effort benefits enormously from the wellness
undertaking. The goal is to improve yourself and your life by one percent each day over 40 days. Nutrition, exercise, stress and time management are all part of the program and Drs. McLaughlin and Paradis will coach participants step by step in these four areas to make sure good changes happen. Cost is only $40 per participant. (That’s just a loonie a day!)
Space is limited. You can register at bookwhen.com/extrememakeover.
