Say “mooo” and celebrate the best of spring at the barnyard in the heart of Ottawa

Did you realize Canada is the only capital city in the whole wide world to have a working farm right in the middle? How amazing is that? As the countless families who’ve visited the Experimental Farm over the years will tell you, it is pretty incredible. Here you can witness our country’s unique agricultural heritage come to life. (You can even pet it!) A horse and cattle barn, small animal barn, sheep field, dairy barn and energy park are just some of the attractions. There are also exhibits and an activity centre for hands-on fun.
FYI: The animal of the month for April is the Berkshire pig. (Oink oink..) Visit Taking Care of Beesness and Tractors upstairs at the Dairy Barn and check out the outdoor exhibition Energy Park: Nature at Work.
The animal barns are open year ’round, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the exhibitions run through November, daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
